Position: Software Engineer
Job Description: MTS is seeking a Software Engineer to join the company's technology team. This position requires an application developer with strong Java skills to support the QualityHealth network and contribute to other strategic technology projects. This position reports directly to the VP of Technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop new functionality for the QualityHealth.com website in a team environment
- Support daily operations surrounding the QualityHealth.com website, including releases and monitoring
Qualifications:
- Degree in a Computer Science-related field or relevant work experience
- Proficient in Java programming, with at least 2 years of experience
- Experience developing and maintaining high-transaction, multitier online websites
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient with at least one J2EE application server (preferably JBoss) and all major related constructs/technologies, such as JSP, Servlets (Struts), EJB, Transaction Management, and Database Pooling
- Highly knowledgeable of Oracle with proficient SQL skills and emphasis on performance-related query tuning
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate a high-level business requirement into a technical implementation
- Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in an environment with direct input on running the business
